guess who’s back… back again…

Well, well, well, look who’s come crawling back to the blog she totally forgot about…

*squints at last post made on May 8, 2017*

… almost two years ago?!

Yikes, I didn’t know it had been that long. Time sure flies when you’re… doing nothing of significance.

No, I’m kidding. I actually have been a bit preoccupied to the point where I just never got around to updating this blog of mine with “new” and “insightful” content for … *ahem* a year and eight months.

tenor

I suppose the biggest change for me was going back to school in between my unexpected hiatus.  I completed a certificate program for multimedia journalism and, since the majority of my credits earned during that program transfer over, I decided to continue with my journalism education by enrolling in graduate school.  It’s very demanding and, despite aspirations to become a television producer, I feel like my writing isn’t what it used to be.  There are so many amazing writers in my class and I felt like Cletus the slack-jawed yokel every time we had to edit each other’s papers.

SO, since 2019 has kicked off a week ago, I decided to make a New Year’s resolution: to be more active on all of my social media accounts including this blog.  Also, to read more because I feel like I’ve let down every single one of my English teachers and Lin-Manuel Miranda during the last year and a half by not doing so.

Normally, I don’t make resolutions for the new year because I suck and never follow through with them.  But, as a budding journalist, if I want my writing skills to be what they used to be (or better) and establish something of an audience (whether small or, you know, less small), I feel like this is a golden opportunity to get back to blogging and experiment with other sources of media (podcasts, vlogs, photos, etc. etc.)

Right now, I’m off for winter break so I have a little more free time to dedicate to this blog.  However, I start classes during the last week of January and this semester is supposed to be even busier and demanding than the last.  I will try to post every Saturday (possibly my only day off from February until May) with a post here and there during the week if I find the time — emphasis on try.

I already have a few posts in mind that I will be writing up in the next few days.  I just recently returned from a trip to Los Angeles to visit my family, so be on the lookout for posts involving those shenanigans.

OK, fingers crossed I keep this blog up to date this year.
